Serving on the Organizing Committee for BOSC, the annual open source bioinformatics conference co-hosted with ISMB. As a committee member since 2022, I help with the planning, review talk and poster submissions, help shape the scientific programme, and support coordination. Since 2024, I have also served as Sponsorship Chair identifying and approaching potential sponsors, managing sponsor relationships, and coordinating sponsor benefits and visibility at the event. BOSC brings together researchers and developers working on open source tools for biological data analysis, interoperability, and reproducible science.

Serving as a Metadata Registry Steward for the OBO Foundry, a community of interoperable biomedical ontologies built on shared principles of openness, collaboration, and orthogonality. My responsibilities include reviewing and maintaining metadata across the OBO Foundry registry, evaluating ontology submissions against OBO Foundry principles, and participating in the OBO Operations Committee - the working group responsible for governance, policy decisions, and the day-to-day stewardship of the registry.

Served on the organizing committee for Biocuration 2023, the annual international conference of the International Society for Biocuration. Contributed to the coordination and logistics of the conference, helping ensure a smooth experience for attendees, speakers, and sponsors.

Served as a mentor in the OLS-5 cohort of Open Seeds, a mentoring and training programme that supports early-stage researchers and open science practitioners in building open, collaborative projects. Guided mentees through the fundamentals of knowledge graphs and ontologies - covering data modelling, ontology design principles, and the application of semantic technologies in research contexts.
